We had a very interesting lecture about fitness.
They told us how bad fast food was and brought many examples on how dangerous they are for our body.

After the visit, we bought junkfood.

Solving the Rubiks Cube.

I solved my first Rubiks Cube!! Woohoo!! el7amdillah!

These are the steps :

1- Solve one side

2- Ui , Li, U, L, U, F, Ui, Fi

3- Li, R, Ui, Di.

4- U, R, Ui, Ri, Ui, Fi, U, F

5- F, R, U, Ri, Ui, Fi

6- Ui, L, Ri, D.

7- R, U, Ri, U, R, U, U, Ri

I don't expect any of you to understand what I just wrote.. =P

Not really bothered to explain the whole thing, just wrote down the steps.

I'll make another post with more details on how to solve it later on.

Greetings,

Today I decided to talk about one thing that frustrates me.
Seeing litter on the ground.

I don't get it, do people think it's cool to trash their country.. Is that it?

I see people throwing their litter all over the place except in the garbage!

I mean, they could be inches away from the rubbish bin but they prefer to throw their litter on the ground. What's up with that?!@

Islam encourages us to be clean and keep the places we go to spotless.
So why not take a couple of seconds to dispose of your rubbish correctly?

You won't lose anything, on the contrary, doing that is considered as a good deed if you're doing it for Allah SWT.

What disappoints me the most is when I see a teacher who's supposed to set a good example to the students, roles down the bus's window and simply throws a Pepsi can or wrapper on the street! And you can imagine a second ago she/he in class was telling the students not to do so!

wait, this is very normal, when a person advises you on something, they don't necessarily do it themselves :) ... What great examples our teachers set.

Ummah Films

I was checking some videos on Youtube and I came across a video called "Distractions During Prayer by Baba Ali" and liked it, so then watched all his other videos which were very true and funny.

Baba Ali started off taping videos in a place with some of his friends, uploaded them in Youtube and now he's known all over the world and his videos are viewed by MILLIONS of people!

The thing about Ummahfilms is that Baba Ali makes videos of what he experienced and thinks about. And he has a good sense of humor which attracts people and makes them want to watch all his videos.

There are two seasons for the Reminder videos and Inshallah Baba Ali will make a third.
Too bad it's going to be the last season.
He wants to start on another project after this last season.
Inshallah it'll be as good as the Reminder or even better.

In his third season he's hoping to talk about these topics and more:
-Complaining Muslims
-Boyfriend/Girlfriend issue
-Unity
-Ritual Islam
-Communication between Men and Women (what are they really saying)
-Women in Islam

Skateboards.

My brother came up with an idea to design skateboard decks, and I decided to join.
So with our artistic skills we will draw designs on a skateboard you're going to give us.

If anyone wants a certain design on their skateboard deck they could send us their skateboard with the design and we would do it.

Until now we got five requests on designing their skateboards.
It's working out great.

Oh, and we expect to get paid after the job!
And If you don't own a skateboard we could buy you one and design in.

Are the bugs taking over?

During the last few years the amount of insects that have become resistant to pesticides has increased and are still increasing.

*The first pesticide was elemental sulfur dusting, soon toxic chemicals such as Arsenic, Mercury, and Lead were being added. Then they started adding Nicotine from tobacco, and so on.. *

The first time the case of resistance showed was in the early 1900’s, when the effectiveness of Lime Sulfur to kill San Jose scale (an insect that damages fruit trees and fruit-bearing plants. ) was gone.

Through generations and generations pests are adapting to changes in their environment.
More pests are becoming resistant to pesticides everyday!
They will survive a pesticide application and the resistant traits will appear stronger in the next generation than it did in the previous.

Examples of resistant insects we see everyday are:
The Housefly, Mosquito, Cockroach, Ticks... Etc...
Not long ago, the pests would die with a single spray of piff paff. But not anymore, these days we have to spray piff paff on them a dozen times until they die.

It seems that insects have the ability to develop resistance to virtually anything that kills them.

Every year scientists are making even stronger pesticides to kill those annoying little pests..

we fear that a day would come when it wouldn’t kill just insects, but it would kill us too!
